MooreIt is with great sadness that we learnt about the passing away of Lamar Moore on June 16, 2014. Lamar was one of our close friends in ministry to those in law enforcement. At the time of his death, he was the Executive Director of the Fellowship of Christian Peace Officers (FCPO) in the United States. A Homicide Detective Investigates the Claims of the Gospels http://cpa-usa.org/homicide-detective-investigates-claims-gospels/ http://cpa-usa.org/homicide-detective-investigates-claims-gospels/#respond Thu, 13 Dec 2012 23:58:13 +0000 http://cpa-usa.org/wordpress/?p=292 Continue reading ]]> Cold Case ChristianityWritten by J. Warner Wallace, an L. A. County homicide detective and former atheist, Cold Case Christianity examines the claims of the New Testament using the skills and strategies of a hard-to-convince criminal investigator.

Christianity could be defined as a “cold case”: it makes a claim about an event from the distant past for which there is little forensic evidence. In Cold Case Christianity, J. Warner Wallace uses his nationally recognized skills as a homicide detective to look at the evidence and eyewitnesses behind Christian beliefs. Including gripping stories from his career and the visual techniques he developed in the courtroom, Wallace uses illustration to examine the powerful evidence that validates the claims of Christianity.

A unique apologetic that speaks to readers’ intense interest in detective stories, Cold Case Christianity inspires readers to have confidence in Christ as it prepares them to articulate the case for Christianity.

In an interview with CPA-USA’s Del Walinga, Jim said:

“I came to faith at the age of 35 after many years of committed atheism. When I first examined the claims of the gospels, God used my experience as a detective to guide me to the truth. I’ve chronicled some of that journey in a new book published by David C. Cook, entitled “Cold Case Christianity, A Homicide Detective Investigates the Claims of the Gospels”.  I’m hoping to provide readers with 10 principles of cold-case investigations that they can then use to evaluate the claims of the gospels.”

The book has been endorsed by a number of Christian apologists (like J.P Moreland, Greg Koukl, Lee Strobel, Josh and Sean McDowell and Paul Copan), pastors (like Rick Warren and Ken Graves) and law enforcement leaders (like Robert Vernon and Lt. General William G. Boykin).

CPA-USA had the opportunity to read and review Cold Case Christianity, A Homicide Detective Investigates the Claims of the Gospels and is happy to endorse this excellent and relevant work to all our friends and colleagues.
